Saint Anselm

Michael A. Green

Book cover Saint Anselm, Archbishop of Canterbury, is one of the enduring figures in the history of the Catholic Church: politician, philosopher and poet, the greatest churchman of his century and an inspiration to Pope John Paul II, Anselm has been many things to many people. Michael Green gives us a closer look at a saint whom Dante names among the spirits of light and power in Paradise.

Michael A. Green has spent most of his life in Kent and has been married for forty-six years. He retired to Whitstable after many years, first in publishing, then in banking. He and his wife now live in Hythe, Kent.

In retirement he obtained a B.A. (Hons.) degree in Social Science from the University of Kent at Canterbury.

A practising Roman Catholic, he takes a keen interest in early Church history and its relevance to today.

In his lectures and writings, he speaks as a 'plain layman' who wants to share his enthusiasm for our English Catholic heritage with fellow Christians.

Other books written by Michael Green include Saints of Canterbury and Kent and St. Augustine of Canterbury.
