Welcomed into the intimacy of a monastic community where the Abbot shares these reflections with his monks, the reader discovers the profound riches contained in the liturgy; how the Church's prayer, marvellously fitted to the rhythm of creation and the great heavenly liturgy, is the most effective means for man to grow in the spiritual life. Includes beautiful illuminated capitals and other embellishments by the Atelier de la Sainte-Espérance.

The Abbey of Le Barroux is one of the many new communities in France which celebrate the traditional Roman Mass, in complete loyalty to the Holy See. Raised by Rome to the status of an Abbey sui juris in 1989, the community now has about 60 monks. The Saint Austin Press has so far published three books written by monks of this monastery, Discovering the Mass, The Sacred Liturgy and Four Benefits of the Liturgy. Two more are in preparation.
